Fact of the Month The second Cascade Tunnel near Washington State which was put in service on January 12, 1929 and The Flathead Tunnel in Montana which opened in 1970 are the two largest railroad tunnels in the United States. However both of them combined still would not be longer then The Seikan Tunnel in Japan which is the world’s longest at 33.46 miles. From Wikipedia |
