Our History

The Club known now as The Railroad Model and Historical Society of Southeastern Ohio, Inc. was formed sometime between 1981 and 1983 and was known as The Athens Model Railroad Association. In 1985 it was changed to Ohio University Railroad Club and then the Railroad Club of Southeastern Ohio in 1986.  In 1995 became what we are today and in 2000 the group acquired nonprofit status.

Fact of the Month

In U.S. railroad practice, a level junction (or in the United Kingdom a flat crossing) is a railway junction that has a track configuration in which merging or crossing railroad lines provide track connections with each other that require trains to cross over in front of opposing traffic at grade.

The cross-over structure is sometimes called a diamond junction or diamond crossing in reference to the diamond-shaped center
